Sunday Santa

here's how far I got with Santa

His trousers are a little further along but they seem to be taking far longer than his shirt did!

As Santa isn't finished I've put the slip of paper back into the jar to get picked again. I will do this with each slip until the task on the slip is complete.

Lesleyanne asked what I have on my bucket list, I have all of my current wips, my finishing pile, a couple of stash related tasks I keep putting off like organising my threads/fabrics and a couple of new challenges like learning to crochet and trying a punch needle kit. I also have a couple of new starts in there. As I think of other ideas I'll add to the bucket :)

Happy Stitching!!

Sunday Stitchings

I still haven't managed to sort out the issue I'm having with posting photos, I have posted my problem on the google groups page so fingers crossed I'll get the help I need soon.

Onto the main reason for my post, stitching!!

Followers of Rhona's blog tangled threads will have seen her post about a summer bucket list and her suggestion of a craft themed bucket, if not go check it out here!!

Long story short I was far to impatient to do the stitching before the bucketing so here is my makeshift bucket list, safely held in my kilner jar-incidentally one of the things on my bucket list is to do the stitching for my bucket list...and to do the pincushion top idea, also from Rhona's blog!!

Today's stitching comes from the bucket list (also known as the jam jar of destiny) and surprisingly was the project I've been working on all week....Santa 10. I had hoped to do something different for a change but the jam jar had spoken.

So here is my progress on Santa. Pardon the hoopmarks... working on Santa's trousers at the minute, the thread you can see trailing off the top of the present is for a button to be attached. I'm not entirely sure if I want to stitch Santa's beard with the recommended Whisper thread or just in plain white thread, he's going to be finished as either a flat fold or an orny for the tree and I wouldn't want it to get matted later... hmm decisions decisions....

There are still a few hours of daylight left so I'm hoping to get some more done before it gets to dark to see.

Until next time, happy stitching!!

P.S photos courtesy of my iphone until I get this damn problem fixed.

lets try this again shall we?

here is my progress on Santa 10.

see now this is weird, this photo was taken from my iphone and uploaded to facebook from there. then I saved it to my laptop from facebook and uploaded it here. this worked however if I take a photo using my camera and upload that you get the shoddy pics as seen in my last post. :\ annoying as I know there's nothing wrong with the camera or the photos when they are on my laptop.

Sunday Stitching & Holiday Happy Dances vol. 2

Hi everyone!!

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, it has been sunny here in Oxfordshire (for the most part) and I am happy to say that I have been stitching!! I'm currently working on Santa 10 by Lizzie Kate, I started this before Christmas last year and I got as far as stitching the words and his hat before I got startitis and moved on to something else ;) Here is where I am now

not entirely sure what's happened to the image, I'll try and reupload sometime in the week along with progress (hopefully!)

During my recent time off work I decided to work through some of the finishes in my finishing pile...sad to say there are rather a lot and I hardly made a dent despite finishing off 5 items!! Firstly I finshed my fall fob from the Crazy Jan Challenge.

Then I finished off Darcy Day, also from the CJC as a pillow, shown here with my bear from the Jane Austen Centre in Bath and all my Darcy books, honestly didn't know I had that many and I've also just checked out 3 more from the Library!
again the picture seems to have failed to upload properly....here is a close up anyway.

Then with the help of my mum Rachel we finished Collecting Flowers from the Somebunny To Love range by DMC (my first larger finish when I took up stitching again in 2007)

And April Showers also from the Somebunny To Love range

And here's how they look together on my stitching chair

Finally I finished Lizzie Kate's Good Things (also a January Challenge stitch) into the lid of my DMC wooden box

Again I appologise for the terrible photos, I don't know why blogger won't let me upload them properly, I know they were fine when I cropped them down...I'll try and sort them out tomorrow, until then....happy stitching!!

p.s I also have stashness and summer project ideas to tell next time!!!

Holiday Happy Dances

well that's it, my two weeks of vaccation time are up, had a lovely time despite the weather and even have 2 happy dances to show for it! (one has literally just been finished so excuse the hoop marks!!)

First we have All Hallows Eve by Waxing Moon, I won this last September from 123Stitch in their free monthly drawing, I changed the colour from DMC310 to DMC550.

Second happy dance is Is It Too Late? By Lizzie Kate, started 3 days before Christmas last year.Stitched using the recommended WDW threads although I did sub the white hand-dyed for the DMC option for simplicity instead. I also made the hour hand on the clock a little shorter and added arrow points to them

Please excuse the shoddy pics too, they were taken with my Iphone in a bit of a hurry!
