IHSW

didn't really happen this time round, mostly because I was at work, I did take my stitching to work with every intention of stitching on my lunch break but I ended up working through it and then to top it all off I went and left my stitching there!!

Haven't been into work today as Monday is my day off so I haven't be able to pick up my stitching! Back in tomorrow so will have to try and remember to pick it up :)

Since I still haven't been able to finish valentine or show you all a photo of my progress on it, I'm almost at a loss of what to talk about, still waiting for the last couple of books in the crewel world series but I did put up the Sophie Kinsella book last week, half the rrp in WHSmiths :) so looking forward to reading that.

Hoping to get some stitching done soon, until then I guess I'll have to keep playing Mariokart7 on 3DS :D

postie day :)

My postie must have hated me this morning lol, thankfully I was at work when he came so I didn't have to feel guilty about the amount of stuff he carried up the drive (mum was in though and she said he was laughing!)

I loved Crewel World so much that I ordered the rest of the series, majority of which showed up today, I'm still waiting on one or two books to arrive so I won't post a pic of them until they are all here.

I also ordered 2 charts from the silver needle. They are 2 charts from the photo booth series by bent creek, I ordered the 2 Christmas themed ones! I do seem to be on a bit of a bent creek bender at the minute, almost every order I've placed recently has had charts from them in!

These charts are really lovely and come with the fabric & embellishments needed to finish them off, my only problem is deciding if I want to stitch the chart as a whole or as separate frames...and then which one do I stitch first! decisions....decisions....LOL

As for lil Valentine... I've finished the V....just 'alentine', border & buttons to go....

Update minus photos

Have done no stitching tonight and subsequently haven't finished my valentine, not too bothered as its only for my display, I'll have it finished with time to spare for next year :)

Hope everyone had a pleasant Valentines day :)

New Start :D

I ended up not frogging my work last night, I looked at it again this morning and found that as the mistake is at the top of the design it was actually fairly easy to work around (ha me 1 frogs 0!).

After quickly stitching around my mistake to finish the top half of save water I decided I wanted to start something new that would be quick to stitch, after all I don't want to finish all my january challenges straight away now do I?!

So I started lil valentine by the sunflower seed. I love this range of designs, there are 7 in total and I have 4 of them!! I've already completed Easter for the January challenge, now I just have Valentine, Halloween & Christmas to do! The others in the series are St. Paddy's, Thanksgiving and July 4th.
I love the way these have been finished and I'm hoping I'll be able to do something similar :)

Not got much done on it just yet so no photo of progress just yet either, spent the afternoon looking at my stash and reorganising it a little better, now everything has been put away properly and I know where everything is!! (well for now!)

Hope everyone else's week is off to a brilliant start!

Saturday's Happy Dance & Sunday Frog Fest....

I think that title pretty much said it all.

I finished LK's Dog's leave Pawprints on Saturday Night. Hoping to get this piece framed up tomorrow, provided I can find the right style frame.
I really enjoyed stitching this design and I hope to be able to find something similar that is Cat themed.

Sunday Night I decided to work on LK's Green Series a bit more, however apparently the frogs have decended as I have to rip out part of it due to a massive counting error on my part!! Luckily it's not a huge area to frog so I'll probably do that before going to bed. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to where I am now (minus the errors) tomorrow.

Crewel World ~ Monica Ferris

I recently bought myself the first book in Monica Ferris' Needlework Mystery Series.

I started reading it yesterday and so far my stitching has really suffered as I've struggled to put it down!!

I've read all the blossom street books by Debbie Macomber too and really enjoyed them and I've started reading the Elm Creek Quilting series by Jennifer Chiaverini and the scrapbooking mystery series by Laura childs is also waiting in the wings.

I love books that reflect something I'm passionate about and all these series seem to do just that, the characters are always easy to relate to in one way or another or just inspire me to pick up a needle & thread & get sewing!!

Right time to put in a few stitches before bed I think!

P.S also did some baking tonight, birthday cupcakes for one of the ladies at work so I'll be back tomorrow with photos ;)

LOVE-ly new stash :)

lol excuse my rather tedious pun there.

Got home from work today to find that the stash I ordered online a week or so ago had arrived!! I bought the new Lizzie Kate love chart & threads to stitch it, except the purple for the 'L' as I had already placed the order when I read the blog post Linda put up about accidentally leaving the symbol of the key... I'll just sub a different purple from my stash.

For those that haven't seen the chart it looks like this:

I have some lovely frames I bought from poundland which have a 4x4 appature which is perfect for this design, I'm going to stitch this up this weekend and frame it on Monday (hopefully)

I also got this design:

It matches the Easter design I finished at the start of the year, I've also bought the letter button but not the chocolate drops as I don't like them very much, I do have one or two in my stash somewhere so if the design looks too plain without them I can easily add them in, again hoping to stitch this in time for Tuesday. No real reason for either design other than the fact that I like to decorate my sewing table with seasonal stitching. (if anyone has a link/info to show me how to do those bows to finish this orny I'd really appreciate it!)

Also picked up the buttons to complete Nose Garden which I think is going to be my next Crazy project to work on...or possibly Witchy Brew, not entirely sure yet!!

I've done a little more on Dogs Leave, the kennel is now finished but its not enough to really warrant a photo....will be finished tomorrow!!
Till next time, Happy Stitching

Crazy Progress & A New Start

Since my last post I have been working on Lizzie Kate's Dog's leave pawprints, not too much more left to do, half a kennel & the words "dog" and "heart". Did notice that the symbol for the kennel door is missing from the key on the chart but just used the brown used elsewhere in the chart to fix.

Planning on framing this design in a multi apperture frame along with some of my favourite photos of my dog, also hoping to stitch a cat themed design and frame it in a similar way with photos of my two furballs!!

As well as working on Dogs Leave, I also started my 1st big project of the year, Lizzie Kate's Green Flip It series. I'm stitching them all but right now I can't decide whether to stitch them in a row or whether individual pictures that are then patchworked together with green fabric surrounding each picture would be better... Either way this is how far I've gotten after an evening's stitching.

I'm aiming to finish a section month and I'll be working this on alternate months as I plan on stitching the 6 fat men series as well. Should have this section finished soon, as depending on what I decide in terms of finishing I may also stitch the worded border as well this month.

Hoping to get Halloween Rules underway this weekend so I'll post another update then unless I have a happy dance to share ;)

Happy Stitching!!

First Feburary Happy Dance

Good Things is finished!! It took a little longer to complete than I realised, life got in the way! However it is done now and makes my first happy dance of Feburary!

I decided to omit the flowers in the lower corner, opting to use a button from my stash instead. By doing so it does mean that I can't display it in the way I originally intended but the button looked so nice I've decided to make it into a small display cushion instead. This also means I can finally use some of the lovely sewing themed fabrics I have in my stash!!

Off to choose my next project now!! Only 8 January starts left to choose from!!
